Saturday - long long travel day
Today was a long travel day - leaving our church at 2:30 AM, and reaching our hotel at 8:45 PM!
We had a layover in Miami of 8 hours, but some team members didn't let that discourage them, and left the airport to see parts of Miami. The rest of us stayed at the airport and alternated between reading, napping, walking, and eating. It was a time for team members to get to know more about each other. We happened to meet the MAMA team from Moravian college in the Miami airport too, and travelled with them on the same plane to San Pedro Sula. Dr Herman was with them.
All went well with our check-ins, security checks, flights, and pickup by Dinora, Gustavo, and Aurora.
The best part of the day was celebrating Karen's birthday - throughout the day. But back at the hotel, we had a delicious birthday cake, topped by candles that shot sparks!
We had a good day, but everyone is tired. So, we'll begin sorting and organizing for our work week tomorrow. We'll be attending the Central Mennonite Church in the morning, and then going to the Alfa & Omega Orphanage in the afternoon.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!
Bob, for the team
