Weekend R&R

After our week of hard work and wonderful celebration party on Friday night (Isabella's Chicken cordon blue) we came to Copan Sat morning. We are enjoying all the attractions here- Mayan Ruins, zip line, bird sanctuary, and shopping! And the best part is the heavenly beds in our lovely rooms. Right now we are watching the Super Bowl and eating wings just like you. We are looking forward to seeing all of you soon. We arrive in Newark tomorrow night about 10:30pm. Thank you so much for your prayer support for our time here. Please pray for drive to the airport in the morning and safe arrival home. We also have one team member down with kidney stones so remember Don. Gracias! Barb for the team

Feb 1. LAST DAY! We stayed in Sanfrancisco de Yojoa, our own community today. It was nice not to have to drive far to serve. It was a very long day, lots of patients. This was one of the unhealthiest of the communities this week. All week we saw 11 cases of malnutrition, 6 of them were from here. They also had 30 cases of anemia. Two communities had less than 7 cases while three communities averaged 32 cases each. In total we saw 590 patients, dewormed 850 people, gave 250 doses of vitamin A to children. The dentist pulled 128 teeth. 105 people were anemic. We poured 30 concrete floors benefitting 68 adults and 76 children and gave 928 people vitamins. A good week. Love Karen
